Mark W. Storer

Mark Walter Storer completed his Ph.D. in 2009 studying security and cost efficiency in archival storage. His advisor is Professor Ethan L. Miller. To study long-term security, he helped create POTSHARDS. To explore cost efficiency, he helped create Pergamum. He is currently exploring ways to automate archival storage management. Mark is currently at Box.

The path Mark has taken to computer science has been circuitous. He received his B.A. in Film Theory in 1997. After returning to school in 2004, he received his M.S. in computer science in 2006. He completed his advancement to candidacy in December of 2007, and defended his Ph.D. thesis in February of 2009.
